3rd Annual Female Empowerment Scholarship. No Winner......Sadly

I wish we had a Congratulatiions to hand out for our 2023 Female Empowerment Scholarship but this year, regardless of the number of times the scholarship was posted, there was not a single entry. It is sad to think that not a single person that read the postings this year bothered to apply or that whomever read the postings, could not think of a single person to pass it on to. Going forward, we will have to consider many more forms of getting the word out because there is definitely a need for funds. 3rd Annual Female Empowerment Scholarship

Who is entitled to apply for the Female Empowerment Scholarship?

Desetto Enterprises, LTD. would like to give back to the Mahopac/Carmel community by empowering a young female to reach for the stars and know that the only limits she may have is the ability to dream on a larger scale. This scholarship is being offered to one Mahopac High School female or one Carmel High School female, aged 16 to 19 years old who is a strong minded and strong-willed female with a ready to take on the world attitude. 

What does she need to qualify for the Female Empowerment Scholarship?

This scholarship is being offered to either a student who plans on attending college with a plan to create, build and run their own business or to a student who may not want to attend college but already has a business plan and is in the process of creating their own business. With this scholarship we are hoping to increase the social, emotional and economic strength within all females. We want to empower their own confidences and capabilities. We believe a female should be free from the control of others and live life on her own terms and conditions without reservations and without retribution from others.

The winner of the scholarship is expected to utilize the money for, but not limited to, the creation of a business website, domain name registration, logo creation, product development or whatever their specific schooling or business expense needs may be.

The deadline for this scholarship consideration is 11:59 PM on June 30, 2023.

2022 Female Empowerment Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Amanda Centrone, our 2022 Recipient of the Female Empowerment Scholarship. Amanda is a graduate of Mahopac High School and is currently a student at Binghamton University, studying Biological Sciences. Amanda presents as a strong and compassionate individual. As well as attending college, Amanda is also EMT certified and works various jobs at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, utilizing and strengthening all her skills. Amanda is strong willed and hopes to work in orthopedics. Amanda is a perfect example of, keep reaching for your dreams. So, CONGRATULATIONS Amanda and may all your dreams and asperations come true!

2021 Summer Award Recipient

Congratulations to Heather Magliari, our Summer 2021 Recipient of the Female/Women Empowerment Scholarship. Heather is a graduate of Mahopac High School and is currently a student at the University of Rhode Island, studying to become a Biomedical Engineer. Heather epitomizes exactly what the Female/Women Empowerment Scholarship symbolizes. We actually did not get any applicants for our primary scholarship that was offered so, Heather, knowing that she was just outside of the qualifications wrote to us and pled her case as to why she deserved to be considered for a scholarship award. Heather’s strong will, go get-em attitude and her absolute moxie to succeed and get what she wants, won us over. Heather is a perfect example of, you will never receive if you don’t ask. So, CONGRATULATIONS Heather and may all your dreams and asperations come true!
